Jason Aldean won six American Country Awards

American Country Awards celebrates new musicians Jason Aldean, Chris Young, Scotty McCreery and veteran singer Carrie Underwood

Country music's newest superstar Jason Aldean won six awards Monday in Las Vegas, including the night's top honors artist of the year and record of the year for "My Kinda Party."
It's true, 2010 has been a non-stop party for Aldean. More than a million fans turned out for his arena tour, his platinum album has spawned four hits so far and the awards are starting to pile up after years of being ignored.

Carrie Underwood's fans came through for her again at the fan-voted awards a year after she was the top winner on the inaugural show with six trophies. She picked up three awards this year, including female artist of the year and female single of the year for "Mama's Song."

As expected, the show's focus was mostly on country music's emerging stars. Thompson Square also won three trophies — blue Fender Telecasters with an embossed silhouette of the U.S. The husband-and-wife duo of Shawna and Kiefer Thompson rode their breakthrough single "Are You Going to Kiss Me Or Not?" to group single, new artist single and new artist video of the year awards.
Chris Young won two awards, breakthrough artist and single of the year for "Voices," "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery was named new artist of the year and Lady Antebellum won a second straight group of the year.

Along with the night's top two honors, Aldean also was named touring artist of the year and won male single of the year for "My Kinda Party" and vocal collaboration single of the year for "Don't You Wanna Stay" with Kelly Clarkson.

Alabama won a Greatest Hits Award and Toby Keith was named artist of the decade as the most-played country star on radio over the past 10 years.
Blake Shelton won video of the year for "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking." He dedicated the win to his father, Dick, who is in the hospital with pneumonia. He then appeared to tear up at the end of his performance of "God Gave Me You."

Nicki Minaj named Billboard's "Rising Star"

Singer and rapper Nicki Minaj was named Billboard's 2011 Rising Star on Wednesday, following her international success this year with her album, "Pink Friday."
Minaj, 28, who is signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, took the opportunity of Billboard's announcement to confirm her next album on Twitter.
Set for release on February 14, Valentine's day next year, Minaj's second album will be called "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," after the rapper's alter ego, Roman Zolanski.

The New York native stormed the Billboard charts this year, becoming the first artist to have seven songs in the Hot 100 singles chart at the same time, including hits such as "Your Love," "Super Bass" and "Fly" featuring Rihanna, while "Pink Friday" reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
"Nicki Minaj has established herself as a force in hip-hop and pop music, and we're thrilled to recognize her accomplishments over the past year," said Billboard's editorial director Bill Werde on Billboard.com.
Minaj is the fourth recipient of the award, following Jazmine Sullivan in 2010, Lady Gaga in 2009 and Colbie Caillat in 2008, and will join country music star Taylor Swift, who was named Woman of the Year, to collect the award at the annual Billboard Women in Music event in New York on December 2.

Katy Perry: Queen of Pop?

When Katy Perry's bubble gum pop song "I Kissed a Girl" hit the airwaves in 2008, no one dreamed that the cutie pie singer with the Candy Land outfits would one day go toe to toe with Michael Jackson for the ultimate pop music achievement.
But just three years and one smash hit album later, that's just what happened. Katy Perry made pop music history last August when she tied Michael Jackson's record for the most #1 singles from the same album. Perry has had the same number of number #1 singles on the Billboard Top 100 from her mega-hit Teenage Dream album as Jackson did from 1987's Bad.
Katy's success is even more noteworthy because she's the only woman with five #1 singles from the same album and the only living artist with the record. "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T.," and "Last Friday Night" all went to #1 on the Billboard charts. As for Michael Jackson, he hit the same milestone in 1988 with "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," "Bad," "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Man in the Mirror" and "Dirty Diana" from his Bad album.
Perry was ecstatic when she tied Jackson's record, telling Billboard magazine, "Hitting No. 1 is always a great moment, but when it turns into a small piece of history, you're reminded of how many millions of people are connected to each other by even one tiny event," she said. "Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Ever since I was 9 years old, singing into my hairbrush, I've dreamed very big dreams, but today is bigger than my dreams. What a nice first birthday present for Teenage Dream!"
When they tied Jackson's record with "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," Katy and her record label seemed content to enjoy the accomplishment for a little while. When asked about the possibility of releasing a 6th single, Capitol Records' Greg Thompson was coy: “We want to savor five right now, but in the world of Katy, you never know.”
Just two months later, Katy and her label have put Michael Jackson's record on notice with the release of a 6th single from Teenage Dream, a mid-tempo ditty called "The One That Got Away." Can the girl with the Crayola colored hair and the cupcake bra possibly top the King of Pop? Let's take a look back at the hits that got Katy to this point and see whether "The One That Got Away" will be the song that helps her break MJ's record.

Esquire magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive Rihanna poses nude, covered in dirt and leaves

Apparently to Esquire, Rihanna, dirt, twigs and leaves are about as sexy as it gets.
The 23-year-old singer is the magazine’s pick for the Sexiest Woman Alive, following in the footsteps of other beautiful women like Minka Kelly and Christina Hendricks. The magazine’s cover and editorial feature Rihanna writhing around in dirt, strategically covering her naked body parts.
Oh, and there’s a video of her in the dirt too, throwing it all over herself and sticking her finger in her mouth.

Not sexy enough for you?
Fear not, there’s more.
To further illustrate her said sexiness,  there’s talk of her derriere, which is charmingly referred to as a “rump roast.”
While describing one of her performances, the article reads, “she grabs her own radiant a** — she handles it, offers it — like it’s a rump roast. She squats and spreads her legs, settles a hand between them, where it stays. Caresses her breasts. She masturbates a dancer with the help of a cane. She pretends to go down on the keytarist.
Then of course, we learn that she smells like coconut and vanilla, she drinks alcohol (kind of a lot, if the interview is to be believed), and while she doesn’t like it, has no problem telling her employees to “hurry the f**k up” when they struggle to dress quickly enough her during her concert.

Still, Rihanna doesn’t  necessarily think she is overtly sexy.
“At the end of a concert, I don’t feel like I’ve been this sexy thing. Really, I don’t even think about it,” she says.
“Honestly, even if it comes across sexual — it has to be a part of my subconscious thought. It’s never deliberate in the rest of the show. I don’t even really… I could see “What’s My Name?” — the dancing is pretty sexy. “Rude Boy.” But I don’t know. I guess people find different things sexy.”The singer also discusses her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, who was convicted of brutally assaulting her in 2009.
““Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know?  I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan … I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”
