Luxury Cars/3 million bucks Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

One of the first big pieces of news to come out of the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show has come from Lamborghini. The previously created concept car the Sesto Elemento will go into mass production! The word comes straight from the mouth of Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, confirming what has been rumored for a few months now.

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, an all-carbon-fiber super sports car which made its debut as a concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, will enter production in a very limited run and expected to reach customers at the beginning of 2013. The Sesto Elemento is constructed through heavy use of carbon fiber, helping keep weight down to just 2,202 lbs. Built on the lines of the Reventon, the Sesto Elemento sports a 5.2-liter V10 that can hit 0-60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds. The limited edition supercar will come with an e-gear six-speed paddle-shift transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

Engineering chief Maurizio ReggianiIn told: The structure of this car is at the centre of its function. It represents a revolutionary way of building a car. This method is a true breakthrough, and we are extremely excited about what it means for our future.

In addition to the cutting-edge design the tailpipes are made from Pyrosic, a glass and ceramic composite that can withstand temperatures of up to 900 degrees celsius.

Unfortunately, there is some bad news about the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. First of all, we can probably expect the Sesto to cost more than most of the people reading this article with make in a lifetime. Second, the company will only build 20 examples of the Sesto Elemento so even if you have a couple million (around $3 million) bucks laying around, it might be hard to get your hands on one. Finally, the Sesto Elemento will not be street legal as it is only intended for track purposes so you aren’t likely to see this new hypercar cruising into your local car show.

Wireless mouse which resembles a Lamborghini car is finally available. Asus, an authorized manufacturer of Lamborghini-branded electronics, which has a line of high-end notebooks branded and inspired by the fast-car maker detailed its WX-Lamborghini wireless mouse, which has been in cold-storage since September 2010, when it was first spotted.

The Asus WX-Lamborghini, inspired by the Lamborghini Concept S, is based on 2.4GHz wireless technology and equipped with nano USB receiver with a range of up to 10 meters. The mouse utilises the AAA battery for power whose light weight gives this wireless mouse a one-up over others which use heavier batteries. The optical sensor’s resolution can be set between 800 and 2,500 dpi.

The WX – Lamborghini comes trimmed in leather and has a striking two tone color scheme which is reminiscent of any Lambo. It has a total of 7 buttons, and a vertical scroll-wheel that’s resembles the design of Lamborghini’s stock wheel. It is available in black, white, and a limited edition yellow and it retails for $73

Special Cars/Limited Edition Lamborghini Aventador LP760-2 by Oakley Design

Lamborghini has only just launched its new flagship supercar, LP700-4 Aventador, and Oakley Design has already come up with a tuning package for it. Called the Lamborghini Aventdor LP760-2, the car receives various engine and cosmetic revisions.

The V12 unit will receive an ECU remap, a tweaked airbox, new air intake pipping, as well as a titanium exhaust system. This will allow the engine to deliver around 760 hp and 745 Nm of torque. Avid readers will recognise the alteration of the 2 at the end of the Aventador headline, giving away a clue to the car’s driveline change. In standard form the Aventador is four-wheel drive, but Oakley Design thought it needed a bit more excitement so the LP700 has been converted to rear-drive.

The LP760-2 will ride on ultra-light, forged alloy rims, which are 4.0 kg lighter each compared to the stock wheels. The car will keep its factory tires, which means that we’ll get Pirelli PZero rubber (255/35 at the front and 355/30 at the rear).

The Oakley will also tweak the Lambo’s aerodynamics, replacing a part of the car’s parts. Thus, the front and rear fascias will be redesigned to offer better cooling, while the side air intakes will be placed behind the doors and the side skirts will also receive a few touches. All the aforementioned parts will be made of carbon fiber.

Limited to just five cars that sport a unique numbered plaque, three of Lamborghini Aventdor LP760-2 have been already sold. Oakley Design will sell the parts separately however, to anyone who is already bored with the idea of a standard Aventador. [Oakley Design]
