Delavilla was established in 2007 and focuses exclusively on Porsche models currently offering complete programs for the Cayman and the 911 coupes. The company says that it is also working on tunes for the Speedster, the Cayenne SUV and the Panamera saloon, with more details to be released at a later date.

Back to the Cayman-based R1, the coupe model was revealed at the 2011 Lyon International Motor Show last month and it proposes a comprehensive exterior makeover along with a choice of power upgrades.
The obvious exterior changes start with a wide bodykit that includes front and rear bumpers and fenders along with side panels, which add 120mm (4.7-inches) to the Cayman's overall width up front and 180mm (7.1-inches) on the rear.

The car also gets a bespoke set of quad tail pipes, LED daytime running lights and larger multispoke alloy wheels in the same color as the body.
Delavilla notes that it offers a great number of options ranging from scissor-style doors with a fingerprint recognition system to a transparent engine cover.
Inside, the French tuning house adds a pair of bucket seats along with Alcantara trim on the steering wheel and gear lever.
Buyers can choose from three different power kits that lift output to 340HP, 385HP and 420HP, though the most powerful option is only for those than plan to use the car on the track for racing.

Next up on our motor show calendar is the largest tuning event in Europe, the 2011 Essen show in Germany, where Hofele-Design will introduce its own bespoke take on the Porsche Cayenne called the Cayster GT 670.

The package bundles a new aero body kit that includes wheel arch extensions, a rear apron with a diffuser, a front apron with a skid plate, side skirts, a roof spoiler and real carbon fiber trim bits for the body.
An electronic lowering module can drop the Cayenne's air suspension 40mm (~1.6-inches) but only at speeds of up to 80km/h (50mph), while Hofele-Design also offers a selection of alloy wheels, in diameters from 20 to 22 inches.
On the engine front, there are two available performance kits, one for the Cayenne Diesel that boosts the 3.0 TDI V6's output from 245PS and 550Nm to 315PS and 650Nm (479.4 lb-ft), and the other for the Cayenne S Hybrid that increases power from 380-horses to 481-horses and peak torque from 580 Nm to 737 Nm (543.6 lb-ft).
For the interior of the Cayenne, Hofele-Design offers bespoke leather upholstery and a set of carbon panels for the centre console, dashboard and door panels.

Porsche expands Driver’s Selection bike range with Bike RS and S models

The Bike RS -an abbreviation Porsche also uses on its four wheeled motorized vehicles that stands for Renn Sport (Race Sport) -weighs in at around 9 kg (19.8 lb) thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber, primarily in the frame, forks, handlebars, stem and seat post. Porsche claims the carbon fiber frame offers the rider both maximum stability and damping characteristics.
Other components include Shimano XTR 20 speed gearing, weight-optimized carbon brake levers, Magura hydraulic disc brakes, Crank Brothers wheels, and smooth rolling tires. The Bike RS comes in small, medium and large sizes and retails for GBP4,999 (approx. US$7,820).

The Bike S restricts the use of carbon fiber to the forks, with the frame made of 7005 hydroforming aluminum. As a result, the S is slightly heavier than its counterpart, coming in at around 11 kg (24.2 lb). The S model also features hydraulic disc brakes and a Shimano 11-speed Alfine internal hub gear system with a low-gear belted drive. It is also available in small, medium and large sizes and retails for GBP2,999 (approx. US$4,690).
Both bikes also come with an anti-theft label containing a unique code number and QR code located on the frame, which allows users to register the bike on a website, report a theft, and allow buyers of second hand bikes to check if a bike has been reported stolen before buying it.

2011 Porsche Cayenne/Review

The 2011 Porsche Cayenne undergoes its first full redesign since its 2003 debut and remains a performance driven SUV with versatility, power, and that driving touch you’ll only find in, well, a Porsche.

The Cayenne is available in three trim levels: base, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo.  The difference between trims is simple: a 100 horsepower increase between trims.  All three engines are more powerful and efficient than last year and it starts with the base 300-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 which is mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission (six-speed automatic is available).  The Cayenne S comes with a 400-horsepower, 4.8-liter V-8 and the Turbo with a 500-horsepower, turbocharged 4.8-liter V-8, both mated to a new eight-speed automatic.   

Like a hybrid, the Cayenne’s new Automatic Start/Stop function turns the engine off at a stop and then restarts it when it’s time to go.  An optional adaptive suspension allows the driver to select between Comfort, Normal and Sport modes, while the Cayenne Turbo features air springs for a fine-tuned ride.  Official fuel estimates are unavailable at this time, but should clock in at around 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway for the V6.  The 2011 Porsche Cayenne competes with the Infiniti FX35/45, Land Rover Range Rover Sport and BMW X5.

One look at the 2011 Cayenne and you’ll notice a closer resemblance to Porsche’s coupes.  The headlights and hood look more traditional and fluid, while the flanks have been drawn-in and the rear fascia and spoiler resemble the Carrera GT.  The panoramic roof system is 1.4 meters long, while an electric slide/tilt sunroof opens the entire roof up to the elements. 

Refinement and versatility rule the interior of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne.  New high-end faux materials replace the outdated surfaces and backseat room has increased due to seats that slide forward and back 6.3 inches (allowing for an increase of 4.6 inches of cargo space).  A BOSE surround sound system comes standard, while a Burmester high-end sound system is optional.  Connect your mobile media devices through a USB or auxiliary input jack port, while a DVD entertainment system, Porsche Communication Management system with voice commands, and available navigation system completes the infotainment package.

Parking sensors and a rearview camera enhance low-speed safety, while Porsche’s superior braking systems work with antilock brakes and an electronic stability system to keep the Cayenne under control even in inclement weather.  In the event of an unavoidable crash, airbags and a sturdy structure provide excellent protection.

Porsche Boxster S Black Edition – Power of Attraction

Porsche is now offering the Black Edition treatment for the Boxter S, which will be limited to 987 units across the world, and which will go on sale in around two months. Based on the Boxster S, the new Black Edition model upgrades with a host of otherwise optional equipment, including the Design, convenience and infotainment packages, fitted as standard.

Each car is finished in black and features the same, uprated 320bhp version of the 3.4-litre flat-six engine that powers the Boxster Spyder. That means the Black Edition will sprint from 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds with a six-speed manual gearbox, 5.1 seconds if you opt for the seven-speed PDK twin-clutch box and just 4.9 seconds if you stump up for the Sport Chrono Package Plus.

Exterior tweaks include black paint, a black set of the Boxster Spyder’s lightweight 19in alloys, black Boxster S lettering on the rear luggage compartment lid, Black Edition script on the black fabric hood, plus black roll bars, black air intakes, and black exhaust pipes.

Inside, only black leather is offered with minimal aluminum and stainless steel accents, including the door sill plates that feature Black Edition lettering. Even the dash trim and gauges are black. Some extra custom items include Porsche logos on the headrests and the obligatory limited edition badge on the glove box, indicating exactly which of the 987 units your car is.

Keeping up with design standards, it offers options like the black-painted Design package, convenience package (bi-xenon headlamps, auto-dimming mirrors, automatic climate control) and infotainment package (navigation, Bose surround sound and XM satellite radio with NavTraffic). The kit will be retailed at $65,200 when the car goes on sale this spring.

Singer/Cosworth Custom Porsche 911

A few months ago, we showed you the magnificent Singer 911 that brought the classic designs of the Porsche 911 and combined them with a modern chassis and drivetrain. This combination produced a car that bridged the best of both worlds in one very, very unique package. Well, it turns out that there’s more where that came from.

Now the Singer Vehicle Design, in joint collaboration with Cosworth and Aria, has launched the customized Porsche 911, which comes with several changes from engine to the other automotive features. Renowned British engineering firm Cosworth, the same that has powered Formula One cars since 1963, will now be preparing the air-cooled flat-six engines for Singer. Meanwhile, the carbon-fiber bodies will be made by the Aria Group, a company best known for crafting concept cars and prototypes for a wide array of automakers.

The Singer 911 starts off as a 964 second generation 911, which the firm says has a perfect blend of vintage 911 character and technical sophistication. The 964 is then given a custom carbon fiber body that pays tribute to the classic 911 from the 1960s and 1970s.

Staying loyal to the original 911, Singer uses air-cooled flat-six engines for their 911. They’ve already delivered three examples of the car, but from now on each car will be getting one of the three powertrians Coswroth will prepare for it. Thanks to this partnership, SVD is able to offer three different air-cooled engines:

• Touring –  3.6-liter with 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS)
• Sport –  3.9-liter with 380 hp (283 kW / 385 PS)
• Cup – 3.9- or 4.0-liter with more than 425 hp (317 kW / 431 PS)

If you are tempted to buy one of this beautiful machines,be aware the prices for a Singer 911 ranges between $190,000 to more than $300,000, depending on a comprehensive selection of equipment which allows each customer to design a machine to their own specific tastes.  With such an exorbitant price, it is surely not for the commoners. 2012 Porsche Cayman S Black/Auto Review

It looks like Porsche is in love with black color and always eager to show the world their latest cars dressed in black. After they launched Boxster S Black Edition and the Carrera Black Edition, Porsche has done it again by launching the third model in the Black Edition series. Known as the Cayman S Black Edition, which will be limited to only 500 units.

The new angel of darkness will go on sale this July and will be priced at $67,500 on the US market. Just like with the other Black Edition models, the new Cayman S Black Edition will be loaded with an extra 10 HP under the hood that will push hard the Cayman in terms of performance. The top speed of Cayman is increased by 1.24 mph to 172 mph with the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) and the car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds with the PDK. Not a heart-stopping speed, but it still is way better than many rides out there. The new Cayman S Black Edition will be set apart by black exterior paint combined with black 19 inch wheels and black partial leather and dashboard trim on the interior.

The Exterior and Interior:

Porsche upcoming model, the new Cayman S Black Edition as the name suggests will be offered with black exterior paint combined with 19" black wheels. The exterior package will also add Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights and LED daytime running lights. Porsche’s black story doesn’t end on the outside, the interior of the Black Edition will be getting black partial leather on the driver and passenger seats, climate control, a Sport Design steering wheel, and cruise control. The dashboard will also be offered in black, while the door entry guards will be emblazoned with "Black Edition" lettering made of stainless steel. The Sound Package Plus will add Porsche Communication Management (PCM), a navigation module, and a universal audio interface (AUX, USB, iPod).

Performance:

Under the hood of this wild beauty, lies a special edition engine that was specially modified for the Cayman S Black edition. It’s a 3.4 liter six-cylinder boxer engine with an increase of 10 HP.

This brings the total output to 330 HP at 7,400 rpm, while peak torque remains unchanged at 272 lb-ft at 4,750 rpm. With this type of engine resting inside its belly, the car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds with the six-gear manual transmission and to 5.0 seconds with the optional Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK). Top speed has also been increased by 1.24 mph: 173 mph with the manual transmission and 172 mph with the PDK .

The new Cayman S Black Edition will go on sale July 2011, and will be priced starting at $67,500 on the US market. There will only be 500 units built.

The Competition:

The two likely competitors which we have found that can really come face to face with the Black Edition, is the Audi TTS and the base version of the Chevrolet Corvette.

On the US market, the Audi TTS is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged, in-line four-cylinder engine with an output of 265 HP and is priced from $47,000. The Chevrolet Corvette is on sale with prices starting from $49,000 and customers will have the possibility of choosing from several engines delivering between 430 HP up to 638 HP. Both the cars are cheaper than Porsche, but in the end Porsche can still take the lead after all it’s a special edition package.
