Weird/Moto Undone concept motorcycle

The Moto Undone concept by urban designer and artist Joey Ruiter will surely turn heads as you cruise down the open road with this "invisible motorcycle.
No, you’re seeing it right, there is no photo-shop trickery going here, what you see is the Moto Undone concept by young designer and artist Joey Ruiter.
moto undone  concept by ruiter
Essentially stripping down the traditional elements of a motorcycle, Ruiter’s design is as bare bones as it gets, which is a huge part of the appeal and inspiration for Ruiter, making the rider appear as if they are floating down the road on an invisible bike. Powering the bike is an electric motor and what’s more; ride data such as speed, distance traveled, etc is sent to the drivers smart phone.
The Moto Undone is very much a concept idea, so don’t expect to see, or not see, someone driving it down the road just yet.

Pursuit motorcycle to debut at Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show

Pursuit motorcycle
Industrial Design student Dean Benstead thinks that compressed air does have a role to play in the future transport mix, and he's designed a working air-powered motorcycle prototype with a view to exploring the viability of the platform.
Benstead's "02 Pursuit" motorcycle is based on the geometry of a current-spec 250 cc motocross bike and uses running gear from a WR250F and Engineair's DiPietro air engine as its power plant. In its current form it can hit speeds in excess of 62 mph (100 km/h) and, given that the first prototype was developed with a focus on design rather than engineering, Benstead believes that performance can be improved with further development.
"The concept evolved from research to sketches to computer modeling before the chassis and bodywork was built and fabrication at local manufacturer, Rinlatech Engineering, began," says Benstead.
"I wanted to explore the viability of compressed air as an alternative fuel, and my childhood experiences riding dirt bikes led me to design the motocross bike based around the Engineair engine."
Benstead also sees the possibility of a marketable model based on the prototype emerging down the track.
"The next prototype would involve a total re-style, different material choices over the current steel tube chassis, such as aluminum or even a futuristic printed titanium, reducing the weight comparable to a heavy-duty mountain bike."
The 02 Pursuit will be revealed in a working demo at the Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show in Australia on Friday November 25.

Honda announces new V4 adventure sports tourer - the Crosstourer

Honda's 1200 V4 Crosstourer
Honda has confirmed that the Crosstourer concept shown at the 2010 EICMA show in Milan will go into mass production. The Crosstourer uses the V4 engine from the VFR1200F, plus long travel suspension, a more upright riding position plus the option of a Dual Clutch Transmission.

Clearly Honda is aiming the Crosstourer at the adventure marketplace currently dominated by BMW's R1200GS and populated by the likes of Yamaha's XT1200Z Super Tenere, Ducati's Multistrada, Triumph's Tiger and Suzuki's V-Strom. Just where the bike is positioned in the road-dirt mix with its 1200cc V4 engine is hard to determine just yet.
Though images of the Crosstourer concept from last year area available, Honda is giving away very little information at this point about what differences the production model will have to the concept.
The only statement released by Honda on the bike so far comes from the leader of the development team, Yosuke Hasegawa:"The Crosstourer offers a high-level fusion of vibrant off-road styling, upright riding position, V4 engine power and Dual Clutch Transmission that offers more direct power transmission and easy operation. We are convinced that we have successfully brought out new value in what can be termed the true Crossover Concept."

Confederate Renovatio Concept Motorcycle

Even crazier than Confederate's Wraith motorcycle, the Renovatio (Latin for "Rebirth") concept sports a minimalist-industrial look that lacks a traditional frame and puts everything out on display like a drunk stripper. But it doesn't just look like a Satan-approved machine, it's got all the evil power you could ever need — 150 hp standard or 190 hp supercharged, thanks to its

BMW Concept e electro-scooter looks the real deal

BMW looks set to become the first of the recognized motorcycle brands to begin leveraging the unique advantages of the motorcycle in addressing the quickly changing landscape of urban mobility.
The Flying Propeller brand is to create a specialist "Urban Mobility" group, launch two premium, high-performance twin-cylinder maxi scooters before the end of the year, and will unveil a concept electro-scooter later today. Using the large volume of enclosed body space of a maxi scooter to contain all the necessaries, the 60 volt Concept e has a 100 kilometer (62 mile) range, recharges from flat inside three hours at a domestic power point, and the performance of a maxi scooter (expected to be equivalent to a 400-500cc commuter motorcycle).
The Concept e will be the first volume production two-wheeler without rear vision mirrors - twin rear-facing video cameras relay what's happening behind the vehicle to two LCD monitors in the cockpit.
The BMW Motorrad brand might only have sold 110,000 two-wheelers in the last year, but its premium values and the foresight of the brand's designers and custodians augers extremely well for the future, as can be seen by the Concept e electro-scooter which will break cover later this week in Frankfurt. At the same time the flying propeller is forcing its way to the forefront of enthusiast motorcycling, it has also superbly positioned itself to take two wheeled transport to the masses.
BMW Motorrad is to establish a new "Urban Mobility" group and will launch two premium, high-performance twin-cylinder maxi scooters before the end of the year. If the Concept e is any indication, we're going to see some very futuristic and environmentally-friendly two-wheelers in the near future.
Given that the Japanese have done almost nothing to retain their once-dominant share of the electric two wheel market, it's great that one of the established motorcycle brands is on the move.
