The British luxury
cell phone maker Vertu, has introduced
another member to its portfolio of ultra expensive limited edition devices. The company has once again partnered with
Ferrari to release the Ascent Ferrari GT handset. Inspired by the
famous Italian cars, the Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT
is built from forged titanium with a matte black PVD finish.
The red and black
hand sewn leather that forms the cover is the same source as Ferrari’s
interiors. The side of the phone features an enameled representation of
Ferrari’s iconic engine block whilst the battery cover is ceramic. The handset
comes with a rather small 2-inch QVGA display with 16 million colors, which is
protected by sapphire crystal glass. It boasts a 5-megapixel camera with
integrated LED flash and video recording capabilities, as well as
high-performance dual hands-free loudspeaker.
Other key features
of the feature-phone include: auto dual-time zone clock, Audio/Video player,
Torch function, 32GB of internal memory, built-in A-GPS navigation with
preloaded maps, as well as quadband WCDMA and GSM for worldwide
coverage. Further, the device incorporates Vertu Feeds application
delivering, City Brief Guides, Vertu Select exclusive content, Vertu Fortress
secure back up service and the Worldmate Travel application.
Apparently, only
2011 units of the Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT
will be manufactured. The pricing details of this beauty are unclear, but
considering it’s a Vertu branded with Ferrari, it will be expensive.
