German camera manufacturer Leica now officially introduces new digital compact camera Leica V-Lux 30, to be launched in June this year. This compact superzoom camera features a new LCD touch screen, as well as the brand new 3D shooting mode that connects two separate photographs into the one three-dimensional-style image.
Video capability allows for recording in 1080i-AVCHD-Full-HD format, offering the quality of a digital camcorder. The entire 16x zoom range is available during video recording and an integrated stereo microphone with an electronic wind noise filter guarantees a crystal-clear soundtrack. The camera also houses an all-new 14.1-megapixel sensor, capable of taking seriously crisp pictures, rivalling the megapixel level of some of the entry-level dSLRs out there.

The camera’s generous 3-inch touchscreen allows you to quickly change your essential settings. Leica V-Lux 30 is also capable of taking 3D images by capturing two shots consecutively and combining them into a stereo image pair. These are then viewable on a 3D TV. This camera is just 33mm thick and weighs in at just 220g.

The camera will be available at selected retailers from June 2011, for RRP $849. The package will also contain software support, including Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Adobe Premiere Elements 9, for still and video image processing.
