SPECIAL GADGETS/Mobiado Classic 712MG Mokume Gane Luxury Phone

Only one week after introducing the Classic 712 Stealth, Mobiado has now announced another luxury phone, the Classic 712MG Mokume Gane. Mokume Gane translates from Japanese as wood grain metal, and the Classic 712MG is true to its name. The case materials undergo a unique forging process that involves hand-twisting different metals together to create the unique mokume gane look.
The Mokume Gane is produced by putting copper, nickel silver and brass through a thorough seven step cleaning process which is the key to preventing material delimitation. The manufacturer insets large sapphire crystal plates, hand painted with 24 Karat gold lettering and symbols into the Mokume Gane body. The buttons of the handset are patterned from multiple sapphire crystal buttons which consist of 24 Karat yellow gold, 18 Karat rose gold and silver. A total of 204.5 Carats of sapphire crystal are thus integrated into the mobile phone.
Coming to the design, the latest 712MG has been done up more intricately and beautifully. The sapphire on the battery cover is hand painted using the Verre Eglomise method by Martin Pauli of Angular Momentum.
Like all the other Mobiado phones, the Classic 712MG Mokume Gane is unlocked and features 3G, a 2.2 inch QVGA display, GPS, email, web browser, music player, and a 5MP camera. The Mobiado Classic 712 Mokume Gane is available immediately for $4,180
